Found this on a Great Website Thecentsiblelife She lists all of her 40 almost free things. Here is a sample of the list.Be sure to go to the site and check out the whole list !

Local Library Summer Reading Programs – Our library has programs for kids of all ages. In fact last year one of my kids graduated to the teen programs at my local library, and I’ve never seen a kid more motivated to get his reading on. I think it was the idea of winning a free XBox that really motivated him.
Free Story On-Line Story Time at Barnes and Noble
 Camp in your own backyard.
Use Trail Link to find local trails to go hiking, biking, etc.
Check out your local park and recreation organization to find a park you’ve never visited.
Go play in the sprinklers.
Try Geocaching. Per Geocaching.com, geochaching is a “real-world treasure hunting outdoor game. Players try to locate hidden containers, called geocashes, using GPS enabled devices” such as your smart phone “and then share their experiences online.”
12. Check out hyper-local bloggers and local websites to find local nature attractions. In Oklahoma temperatures are often wickedly hot (in the 100′s) during the summer. We love to visit a place called Blue Hole, a natural cold water spring, that I discovered on a random search looking for fun things to do in Oklahoma. It only cost us gas money, a picnic meal, and $5 per car.
Train for a sport such as running & have a final goal or goal race picked.
Apple Retail Store – Camp -  Last year my kids learned how to make a movie at camp, and they loved it.

Albany Oregon Brass Ring Project

Good morning Friends.
This last weekend we took a trip over the Mountain Pass and ran into snow and bad roads .
Due to recent slides the road is down to 20 miles an hour and filled with orange cones to warn about the damaged area.
Hwy 20 Oregon will be a nightmare of repairs this summer.
I recommend to avoid at all costs.
However we did stop in Albany at The Brass ring Carousel Project and found it to be a wonderful and informative stop along the roadside.
You are still allowed to take photos and talk to all the artists.
I highly recommend stopping if passing through Albany Oregon.

Banana Split on a Stick

Banana Split on a Stick

It's a frozen banana split made in a cup. So easy to make.

Ingredients:

  • 8 Tbsp. strawberry topping
  • 4 bananas, peeled and halved crosswise
  • 1 1/2 cups strawberry ice cream, softened
  • 8 Tbsp. pineapple topping
  • 1 1/2 cups vanilla ice cream, softened
  • 1/2 cup chocolate-fudge topping
  • 1 1/2 cups chocolate ice cream, softened
  • Whipped cream
  • 1/4 cup chopped walnuts
  • 8 maraschino cherries (drained and patted dry)

Directions:

Divide strawberry topping among eight 6-ounce plastic or paper cups. Insert a wooden stick into each banana half; place one in each cup, stick side up. Place a square of aluminum foil with a slit in the center over each cup, cover and freeze for an hour.
Divide strawberry ice cream among cups, spooning it in around bananas; repeat with pineapple topping. Freeze for 15 minutes. Spoon vanilla ice cream, fudge topping, and chocolate ice cream into cups until full. Place a square of aluminum foil with a slit in the center over each cup. Freeze overnight or until firm.
When ready to eat, peel off the cups. Top each pop with whipped cream, walnuts, and a cherry.

Letter From Grandma

Grandma is eighty-eight years old and still drives her own car. She writes:

Dear Grand-daughter,

The other day I went up to our local Christian book store and saw a 'Honk if you love Jesus' bumper sticker ..

I was feeling particularly sassy that day because I had just come from a thrilling choir performance, followed by a thunderous prayer meeting..

So, I bought the sticker and put it on my bumper.

Boy, am I glad I did; what an uplifting experience that followed.

I was stopped at a red light at a busy intersection, just lost in thought about the Lord and how good he is, and I didn't notice that the light had changed.

It is a good thing someone else loves Jesus because if he hadn't honked, I'd never have noticed.

I found that lots of people love Jesus!

While I was sitting there, the guy behind started honking like crazy, and then he leaned out of his window and screamed, 'For the love of God!'

'Go! Go! Go! Jesus Christ, GO!'

What an exuberant cheerleader he was for Jesus!

Everyone started honking!

I just leaned out my window and started waving and smiling at all those loving people.

I even honked my horn a few times to share in the love!

There must have been a man from Florida back there because I heard him yelling something about a sunny beach..

I saw another guy waving in a funny way with only his middle finger stuck up in the air.

I asked my young teenage grandson in the back seat what that meant.

He said it was probably a Hawaiian good luck sign or something.

Well, I have never met anyone from  Hawaii  , so I leaned out the window and gave him the good luck sign right back.

My grandson burst out laughing.

Why even he was enjoying this religious experience!!

A couple of the people were so caught up in the joy of the moment that they got out of their cars and started walking towards me.

I bet they wanted to pray or ask what church I attended, but this is when I noticed the light had changed.

So, grinning, I waved at all my brothers and sisters, and drove on through the intersection.

I noticed that I was the only car that got through the intersection before the light changed again and felt kind of sad that I had to leave them after all the love we had shared.

So I slowed the car down, leaned out the window and gave them all the Hawaiian good luck sign one last time as I drove away. Praise the Lord for such wonderful folks!!

Will write again soon,

Love, Grandma

Brilliant Up Yours

Here is the most brilliant statement ever made without a word being said!!!!!
This guy was told by his Homeowners Association that he could not fly the American Flag in his yard......
This is his response:
Is this not one of the biggest "Up YOURS!!!", you've ever seen?

Not Time to Plant !

Sue Genovese knew vegetable gardeners misunderstood the calendar during a 10-day period in March when local temperatures topped 70 degrees eight times.
"People were expecting to find eggplant, basil and tomatoes," said Genovese, whose family owns the Garden Path in Scranton. "They were looking for all the wrong things. You kindly say, 'In this area, it's truly not time yet.' "
